It's been one week since I had scarless breast reduction surgery. I have already gone done considerably in size...was a 38DDDD...I now fit into a 38DD surgical bra, which I am still wearing. And...it's only been ONE week! I feel lighter already! I am 50 years old, overweight, and in menopause. Since hitting menopause, my "original" glandular breasts changed to being more fatty, and I think this really helped with the reduction. I have been researching this for years, and I finally decided it was time to to make the plunge. I couldn't be happier with my decision. There were no surprises going in to surgery. I knew what to expect from my consultation with Dr. Baxt and his staff. I was not looking for young, perky breasts...just smaller breasts with a reduction in size and weight. Dr. Baxt took out 1450 cc from EACH breast (this is a liter and a half...or about a quart of milk!!!) I took the pain medication for one night, and then Tylenol for a couple of days...though, I was not in a lot of pain at all...just some soreness. I am still sore and wearing the surgical bra, but have gone back to my everyday routine two days after surgery. I wear the binder on top of the surgical bra at night (not because I have to, but because it feels good to me when the breasts are bound). My bruising (which was pretty scary!) has gone down from a bright red/black and blue to a dark red/black and blue/yellow, and I see a definite improvement. I am lumpy. I have been massaging a bit, but this, too, will go away as time passes. I do find that I am tired at the end of the day, but this recuperation is "cake" compared to what you would go through with a "traditional" breast reduction. I am very grateful that I found a top notch surgeon who performs this surgery many times throughout the year. I do feel that this is a new beginning for me...and I can't wait for my final results...but, if I stayed the way I am today...I would still be eternally grateful! Thank you Dr. Baxt.

Great to hear your success. I had SBR 9 months ago with wonderful results. 38DD to 38C at age 55,5'5", 166 lbs. Size changed immediately following the surgery. Keep wearing your surgical bra 24/7 for support. Today, I choose to wear my surgical bra at bedtime for support. You'll have fun when you purchase your first new bra - wait about 2 months or so. I purchased the Bali wire comfort bra. People think I lost alot of weight; actually just the DD's. Definitely a new beginning and new self esteem. Dr. Baxt and his team do wonders with SBR while positively changing a woman's life. All the best - JH

Thanks for your feeback and support. Just curious...did you lose even more as time went by or was your major reduction immediately after surgery? I'm hoping to lose even more as time passes...but I'm not sure if this happens with everyone. Would love to know how your progress transpired after surgery.

Immediately following surgery dropped to C cup. 9 mos. later I am slightly smaller since surgery. I had 900cc and 1000cc removed. I was a full DD and now a regular C cup. I have had no problems since the surgery. If you now continue to wear the support bra 24/7, all should go well. Keep smiling!
