It's been 1 week since my SBR procedure, almost all bruise are gone and I am already happy with the results. I was a 34DD and now believe I am a large 34C or small 34D, which hopefully after sometime I will settle at a 34C - exactly was I hoped for!

After 4 consults and reading this board for over 2 years I finally had SBR done last week. I wanted to make sure that although the results are a bit unpredictable I had done my research and felt comfortable I knew all the pros and cons. I also thought there was a good chance it would be a waste of money and it wouldn't work as I wasn't sure if my breasts were too glandular. I am 5'5" and 120 pounds and had read everywhere than thinner women have more glandular breasts and will get a minimal if any reduction.

The doctor I went to performed the procedure with a very mild sedation - so I had no side effects at all and took no pain medication. My breasts were very tender the first few days but the compression garmet and binder really prevented that soreness by not letting my breasts move. The only concern I had during the whole experience was I developed 3 tiny (the size of a small marble) seromas (fluid with nowhere to go due to new empty space in your breasts due to the removal of fat/tissue) at the bottom of my breasts on the 2nd day which freaked me out a bit...but apparently your body reabsorbs them without treatment (but bigger ones would need aspiration). I read online after that that consistent compression as tight as you can stand it helps prevent this - so I have practivally suffocate my breasts with the compression garmet and they are now almost gone.

My advice to anyone considering it - go for it! I wish I hadn't waited so long, but am so happy I did it. I can barely even see the tiny 4 incisions sites and it's only been a week - couldn't have imagined going for a traditional breast reduction and all those scars.

do you mind sharing your doctor's name and cost associated with SBR? Was it covered by insurance?
