Hey Everyone,

I know alot of you are new to the forum and haven't talked to me or some of you have that have found my posts. This is LVAngel (the one from the Discovery Health piece) All my info is available in the memberlist if you want to ask me any questions or you can post here if you so choose.

I had the Scarless Breast Reduction about 2 years ago (I think) and I couldn't be happier, it has started me on the road to healing alot of other health problems that I have had that all stemmed from ginormous breasts. If you saw the Discovery Health piece you know that I was going to have another baby and attempt to breast feed. Drumroll please.....I CAN!!!! I was able to nurse my daughter who is now 4 1/2 and now after the reduction I am able to nurse my son!!!

There are some huge diffrences in nursing my son versus my daughter and all of them good!

This time around I don't have a nurse pointing out that if I am not careful I will smother my son with my breasts

This time around I am able to express milk with ease instead of frustration because the medela horns are made for A to C cups

This time around I can feel letdown and am more aware of what is going on and if I have a milk pocket that is not drunk by the baby or expressed (nothing hurts more than breast fever)

This time around I actualy knew when my milk came in (can anyone say pornstar boobs?!)

This time around my nipples are able to be latched on with ease instead of having the frustration of flat nipples because the skin was streched so tight

I have to say that my ob was shocked when he read on my chart that I had had a BR because he had seen me and had not seen the Frankenstein scars he actually had me show him the small incision point which according to him is barely visible (Thank you Dr. B!) Of course this OB pointed out that the majority of his patients that had had a BR couldn't breast feed and I told him we would see. I also had the NICU nurse floored when she saw me nursing him and she saw in the chart that I had had a BR that I was able to nurse because in the NICU they have alot of experience with Moms and nursing and she couldn't believe I was able to nurse. And before you ask why was the fact that I had a BR in the chart was because I was adamant that my son wasn't getting formula so the OB put it down that I was a BR Mom just in case I starved my son. So thats the long and the short of it, my son was born on Jan 22, 2006 and is growing like a champ! TTYL

That is great news! Thanks for the info and congrats on your newest addition. I think you may be the first to report a successful breastfeeding post-SBR. I would be interested to know your size and shape after you wean your son vs. before you started nursing.

I hope to become pregnant soon with my first and I would like to breastfeed. I will keep everyone posted on hopefully my attempt at nursing.

angel, i've just come back on this site for the first time in a few years. i also had a sbr around two years ago. i hardly had any fat so it was pretty much all microexcisional. it's been at the back of my mind about breast feeding (great news you can do it). i can't remember if you were purely lipo. my worry is the microexcisional procedure means i'm less likely to be able to breast feed.

I gave birth to a baby boy on March 30, 2007. I am happy to report that I was able to breastfeed. No issues with the SBR at all. As far as I know I was purely lipo, not microexcisional.
