Hello all.
My wife is scheduled to have SBR the last week in March but I am having a very frustrating time working with United Healthcare and in getting any information as to what and how much they will cover.

My question is for all of those who were covered by your insurance and especially if you might have United Healthcare coverage.

All I am able to find out is that they will cover up to 70% of the magical number that they feel is "reasonable & customary". They are telling me that the $6,890 is above what is reasonable & customary although on their web site, the cost of the out-of-network Breast Reduction is estimated at $10,045. This is what I do not understand! ARGH!!!

For whoever has had this procedure performed and were reimbursed from your insurance, how did you go about doing this and what percentage did you get reimbursed?

Thank you,
Dustin

I have UHC and I was told (after about 10 phone calls) that I was not covered at all. The type of plan that my employer picked does not cover breast reduction, period. This sounded strange to me, but I was tired of calling and chose not to pursue it any further. Sorry I can't help you out.
