I thought those still thinking about sbr could benefit from some experiences in the last 2 yrs. I had Dr. Baxt perform sbr 3/04, I was ddd/dd now I wear c bra. My breasts are the same shape, just smaller. I do still notice where the lipo was done, the glands are more obvious. You can see where the fat was removed. My breasts are more tender and "fuller" in appearence just before period time, then they quickly go back to what is now normal.
Mamograms: they hurt more, are denser to read because there isn't the fat to contrast the pictures, so ladies, once you heal if you are over 40 you will need to get a new baseline mam. The pictures will look totally different.
The big thing is being aware of what the breasts feel like after surgery, gland lumpy vs. something to go to the doctor about, after surgery self breast exams are very important.
I also found that even after I healed it was helpful to wear a cheap cotton sports bra to bed, all the time. I found when I didn't I was sagging, that and lifting weights help give the "girls" a lift too!
If you want perfect perkys then this isn't the surgery for you but if you want relief from back/shoulder pain and want to be more proportional then I would highly recommend it.
Good luck on making your decisions, for me it was the best 40th birthday present!
