Dr. Baxt did my SBR on March 7th, removing 2400 CC from each breast. I was wearing a 34 J before the surgery and now I am in a 34DDD, which is gradually becoming too big. I predict that I will ultimately be a 34DD. Wow! This has been truly amazing. I never dreamed that I would continue to become smaller after 5 months, even though Dr. Baxt assured me that the final results would be 6-12 months! I am so grateful that I had this surgery. My results have been quite astonishing!!! I highly recommend Dr. Baxt to anyone who wants a life-changing outcome! Thanks, Dr. Baxt!!!

Jamie,

If you don't mind, could you give us your age and bra size both pre and post surgery?

Also, what made you decide to go for the SBR versus other traditional surgical breast reduction methods?

Did you get any nipple lift?

Do you have any loose skin?

I am in hot debate over the SBR or traditional surgical methods of breast reduction.

Thank you from Atlanta.

For me, the top reason for choosing SBR over traditional reduction was recovery time. I too had surgery on Thursday and was back to work on Monday. SBR is far less invasive since there is no cutting of tissue. Don't get me wrong, there is still a recovery period involved. I had bruising for several weeks, but it did not really affect my daily activities.

Another concern for me was breastfeeding. Actually, I am currently 9 weeks pregnant. I am planning to breastfeed. There was one previous poster who reported breastfeeding after SBR. Hopefully I will be able to report the same in April!

If having more control over your final size and having more "perky" breasts (although with noticeable scars) are more important to you then go with a more traditional route. I was a little nervous about having enough to remove, but I was not really concerned with the perky factor. I am always going to have to wear a bra no matter what anyway. To me having no scars and a much less invasive procedure was more important. If I had to do it over, I would stay with my decision 100%. See my diary, Surgery on June 16, 2005, for more info regarding my experience.

As long as you know the facts going into it you will be happy with your decision. Read as much as you can. I read most of this board before I had my consultation with Dr. Baxt and really didn't have any questions for him, because I had already researched them.

Good Luck.

Thats terriffic... What are the downsides to this type of reduction? I am concerned that I will have excess skin and saggy "smaller" breasts.... Does the skin firm up?
